What Does a Low Vision Optometrist Do?
A low vision optometrist evaluates patients whose sight glasses or surgery cannot fully correct, from macular degeneration, glaucoma or other disease, and prescribes magnifiers, telescopic glasses, lighting and electronic aids alongside rehabilitation.
The work happens at low vision clinics, VA blind rehabilitation centers, schools for the blind and private practices.
