This policy explains what information OptometryHires (optometryhires.com) collects, how we use it and the choices you have.
The short version: eye care job seekers can browse and apply without an account, and applications go directly to employers, so they never reach us.
The information we collect comes from employers who purchase listings, along with the standard technical data every website relies on.
Information we collect
- Employers posting a job: the details you enter in the job form, namely your practice or company name, a contact name and email, and the listing content (title, description, location, pay and application link). The listing is public, but your contact details are never shown on the site.
- Payments: all payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We receive only confirmation of payment and receipt information. For Stripe's own practices, see Stripe's privacy policy.
- Job seekers: standard technical data only. Job seekers do not create accounts here. The Apply button sends you to the employer's application page, and your resume and application materials go to that employer, not to us.
- Technical information: like nearly all websites, our hosting servers log basic request details (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) to keep the site secure and working.
- Messages to us: we keep emails you send us so we can respond and keep a record of the request.
How we use information
- To publish and manage the listings employers purchase.
- To contact employers about their listings, including receipts, expiration notices, changes and support.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
- To meet our legal duties, such as keeping tax records.
Personal information is not sold, and it is not given to outside parties for their marketing.
Analytics and cookies
We do not use advertising trackers on this site.
We may use privacy-focused analytics to understand overall traffic, such as page views and referral sources. We review that data only in aggregate and do not use it to profile individuals.
We only use cookies the site needs to function, including Stripe's checkout cookies.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the site, namely Stripe for payments and providers for web hosting and our database.
These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
Public listings are also shared with search engines (for example, for Google Jobs indexing). Only the public listing content is shared, never the employer's contact information.
Data retention
We keep employer listing and purchase records as long as we need them to provide the service and to meet legal and tax recordkeeping obligations.
Expired listings that are no longer public may remain in our database.
You can request deletion of your information at any time, as described below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for instance, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
Children
The site is intended for employers and working adults.
It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age.
