Some state laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act, require businesses that collect “consumer health data” to publish a policy describing how they handle it.
We publish this page so our stance is clear: OptometryHires collects no consumer health data.
About OptometryHires
OptometryHires is a job board. It publishes job listings and career content for people working in eye care or hoping to, including optometrists, opticians, optometric and ophthalmic technicians and practice staff.
We do not provide eye exams, vision care or any other health or medical service, we do not schedule or arrange patient care, and we collect nothing about anyone's health or medical history.
The site covers eye care jobs, not your own health.
Data outside our collection
We do not collect, process, share or sell consumer health data as defined by the Washington My Health My Data Act or similar state laws.
That means none of these are collected:
- health conditions, diagnoses, treatments or medications;
- information about procedures anyone sought or received;
- biometric or genetic data;
- precise location data that could show a person seeking health care;
- inferences about any of the above drawn from how you use the site.
No account is needed to search or apply, and each application is sent straight to the hiring employer.
The limited information we do collect, from employers who post jobs and from standard technical request logs, is described in our Privacy Policy .
If our practices change
Before we start any activity involving consumer health data, we will update this policy and provide any notices and consent choices required by applicable law.
Questions and requests
If you believe we hold consumer health data about you, or you have a question about this policy, contact [email protected] and we will reply within the time frame required by applicable law.
